The lengths of the neck and bridge pickups in the original Fender J-basses are not equal. The neck pickup is 3-5/8" long which is slightly shorter than the bridge pickup which is 3-3/4" long. Some modern designs, however, use two bridge length pickups. Some (very few) use two neck length pickups. Always take a measurement of your pickups before ordering just to be sure.

Bartolini 9SU 4-String Single Coil Jazz Bass Pickups
Single Coil, Deepest Tone Pickups. These are single coil units with strong lows and low mids. When used together they will have very low hum and noise levels. The tone of these pickups is deeper than vintage pickups; their strength is in the lows and low mids. The Neck and Bridge coils are equal as in the original Fender pair. Using either Neck or Bridge pickup alone will result in some hum and noise.
