Fender Series-Parallel Jazz Bass Control Plate Assemblies
Pre-wired controls includes fasteners and your choice of finish for the control plate and control knobs. This assembly uses three CTS 250K audio taper solid shaft pots, one .047µF Orange Drop Tone Capacitor, one Switchcraft 1/4" Mono Output Jack, one DPDT switch, and the finest wire on the market: WBE PTFE 22awg Teflon High Temp Silver Plated Wire.
Also included is one 8"x 12" copper foil sheet, which is enough for shielding your cavities and backside of your pickguard and a piece of copper foil on the ground wire for use under your bridge plate for better contact.
The wiring diagram originated here but I didn't follow the directions there as I located the switch differently to make a much neater assembly using less wire.
Also, these controls can be wired/soldered together into any harness no matter what knob configuration used. The switch can be located basically anywhere making this modification as sweet as it can be . . . the result being the standard jazz (parallel wiring) tone range will be "extended" giving you kick-ass pbass tone too.

What this will do for you is extend the sound range of your Jazz-style bass. It gives you a tone which is closer to that of a P-bass, aka. deeper, warmer, and thumpier. It also leaves your stock Jazz sound intact so you're not losing anything, just gaining a more flexible sound.
*One thing to note, when you throw the switch for serial mode, your bridge knob won't do anything at all, and your neck knob will become a volume knob. The tone knob will function as normal.
