Bartolini preamp harnesses are built around two designs of active preamp.
All harnesses work with passive pickups only.

Bartolini NTMB - 3 Band Preamps

The NTMB comes prewired from the factory on a harness with gain control trim potentiometer to control overall output. This means that the preamp module comes wired up to the potentiometers, battery connectors and the output jack. Take out the pots that are in your bass, install the harness, hook up the pickups, and your bridge ground wire, and you're playing. The NTMB is wired for 9-volt operation, but an extra battery clip is also included for 18-volt operation.
