Application: PTFE non-stick coated wires are intended for electrical or electronic use in protected applications where high temperature will be encountered. The wires have excellent resistance to thermal aging, solder iron damage, flame, and moisture. PTFE coating also resists solvents, greases, ozone and most other chemicals. These wires are easy to install due to their small size and slippery surface. PTFE has excellent, stable electrical characteristics with low power loss, making it ideal for high frequency applications.
In short . . . silver plated copper has superior audio / signal transmission, takes solder very easily, is very flexible, but will hold its shape for perfect 90 degree angles. The small diameter makes your project much more clean and attractive. 600 volt rated and up to 200ΊC.

January 2011 News UpdateThe price of PTFE has risen due to high demand and low availability. Copper prices have also reached record highs, most recently reaching $4.11 on October 16th on the Camden Index, and Silver prices have nearly doubled in the past year as well. Major wire and cable manufacturers have been reporting PTFE shortages for the past few months. Due in part to limited supply allocations from their suppliers as well as an increase in demand from consumers, price and lead times on PTFE continue to increase. This trend is expected to last through at least the first quarter of 2011.
