Grading is by aesthetics only. 1st grade is usually free of patches, blotches, and large streaks. 2nd grade is considered the same quality hardwood but may have larger streaking, etc. All are guaranteed to be free of cracks and defects, even in the lower grades.

4 String: 5/16" x 2-3/4" x 26+" - ( 7.9mm x 69.9mm x 660+mm )
5 String: 5/16" x 3-1/4" x 28+" - ( 7.9mm x 82.6mm x 711+mm )
6 String: 5/16" x 3-3/4" x 28+" - ( 7.9mm x 95.3mm x 711+mm )

Very hard, rings like a bell, is quartersawn and likely more stable than Ebony. This should become my fretless fingerboard wood of choice! - David Segal: NYBW
