Fitting Rotosound Bass Strings Be sure only the silked part of the string is wound around the machine post. If the speaking length of the string is wound around the post, the string may then be prone to breakage. This type of breakage is not covered by our normal warranty.

If you want that low-end rumble of a five-string, but don't want to buy a new axe, or just want to add some heaviness to your sound, this set is a perfect way to do the ultimate "de-tuning" -- a whole string!
I strung my "extra" Rogue 4-string axe with these, tuned B E A D, dropped the mids on the amp a touch, and suddenly the room is shaking, from an otherwise ordinary extra bass.
These strings, albeit abrasive on the frets (I use them on my "extra" bass, not my primary one) always feel like butter, are capable of some SERIOUSLY wicked bends straight out of the envelope, and retain that "new" growl for a disgustingly long time after being strung. They give an amazing bite to players who use picks and provide a thump to fingerstyle players that is unmatched.
The tone, ring, and sustain provided for hammer-ons and pull-offs is absolutely jaw-dropping. Even though they can do some serious damage to the frets over a long-term basis, the quality of the sound is WELL worth it!
