Solo Bass 55 bass strings are made by rolling the wire as the string is being made. This string has three distinct advantages over the conventional roundwound: (1) a smooth feel, ideal for fretless bass and studio work; (2) no finger noise/reduced fretwear, and (3) it retains the brightness of roundwound strings. |

"Pressure Wound" falls into the same category as "Halfround" and "Groundwound" in that it is a roundwound string modified to have a smooth, flatwound feel; creating a brighter string than flat with much less string noise and high end sparkle than the average roundwound. There isn't actually as drastic a difference in sound between these strings and the Swing 66 strings as you might expect, so if you enjoy the sonic character of Rotos but have a strong preference for the smooth feel or for minimizing all string noise, these would be an excellent choice.

Fitting Rotosound Bass Strings Be sure only the silked part of the string is wound around the machine post. If the speaking length of the string is wound around the post, the string may then be prone to breakage. This type of breakage is not covered by our normal warranty.
