Body: Started with this SX SPJ P-Bass Body in a trade with Jason Welch from TalkBass for a lake placid blue jazz body, which is a very long story: here
Body Finish: 3-Tone Sunburst
Pickguard: 3-ply black-white-black with thumbrest. Copper foil shielded.
Added two extra pickguard holes at control pot area for stability.
Bridge: SX 7-hole
Bridge Cover: Yeah, I know you hate 'em but they look nekid without 'em.
Strap Locks: Schaller chrome - installed with rubber grommets, not felt.
Neck: SX SPB-62 Fretless 4-Banger
Headstock: Paint face black ??? It's not now, but you can have it done.
String Nut: SX plastic nut can be replaced with your choice of materials.
Strings: Fender 9050 Stainless Steel Flatwound Bass Strings
Tuners: SX chrome tuning machines.
Electronics: Passive. Buzzard's Hot Rod PJ Wiring.
Pickups: SX P-bass Pickup and SX Jazz Bridge Pickup
Attached rubber pads to the bottom of each pickup.
Controls: V-V-T. SX control pots. Normally, as part of an upgrade, the pots, cap and jack are replaced with CTS brand pots, Orange Drop cap and a Switchcraft jack. However, this bass has limited space in the cavity near the tone knob and a small diameter hole for the output jack. See note below for Cavities.
Cavities: Applied copper foil shielding in control cavity. If you want upgraded electronics it will require removal of existing copper foil, routing out the control cavity near the tone pot, and refoiling the control cavity.
